How can AI generate compliant product images and lifestyle mockups for ecommerce listings?

By treating the marketplace's rules as instructions. The tool reads the product, cuts it from its background, places it on white or in a scene, scales it to fill the frame, and exports at the size the platform needs. A main image stays product only. A mockup can carry a scene, as long as nothing in it looks included when it is not.

Can AI generate product images that comply with marketplace listing requirements automatically?

For the technical rules, mostly yes: background, frame fill, size and a main image with nothing added. Two things stay manual. Sample the white, because a generated white can come out at 254 rather than 255, and check that the image matches the physical product, which no tool can do for you.

Are AI-generated product images allowed on Amazon, eBay and Google Shopping?

Yes, none of the three bans them, as of September 30, 2026. Amazon asks you to tag a photorealistic AI person with the contains-synthetic-performer keyword. Google Merchant Center requires AI images to carry metadata saying so. eBay has no AI rule but bans stock photos for used items. All three require the image to show the item you sell.

What are the best AI tools for marketplace image compliance?

Look for a tool that holds your product to your own photo, exports square images at the size you set, gives a white you can sample and fix, keeps AI metadata in the file, and handles many products at once. Test it on your hardest product, one with small label text or a reflective finish, before you commit a catalog to it.

How do I standardize product images across Shopify, Amazon, Etsy and Google Shopping?

Make one master main image that satisfies the strictest rule on each point: square at 2,200 pixels, pure white, product at about 85 percent of the frame, nothing added. Export it as a JPEG, and keep a version under 1MB for Etsy. Put lifestyle and detail shots in the secondary slots, which all four allow.

Can I use a ghost mannequin image as my Amazon main image?

Not for adult clothing. Amazon's clothing guidelines require adult apparel main images on a model, and its image guide bans any part of a mannequin in the main image. A ghost mannequin shot works well in the secondary slots and as a main image on Etsy, Shopify or your own store.

Will a compliant image fix a listing that is not selling?

No. Compliance keeps a listing eligible to show, which is different from winning the click. A compliant main image that is dim, badly cropped or hard to judge at thumbnail size passes every check and still loses the sale.
