Pebblely is the better buy if all you need is styled backgrounds behind a product and you want the fewest decisions: pick one of 40+ themes or type a prompt, and its Pro plan works out to under 8 cents an image. Shotova is the better buy if one subscription has to produce a whole listing, because its plans add angle views, ghost mannequin, on-model apparel shots, vertical video and listing copy. Shotova also has a free plan, while Pebblely has no free trial and no refunds.

Checked against each product's own pricing page on 11 September 2026. Pebblely's free trial, rollover and refund answers are from the FAQ on its pricing page; its feature list is from that page and its 8 March 2026 product announcement.
The best alternative to Pebblely for product photography depends on how much of a listing you want one tool to make. Pebblely is an AI product background generator: you upload a product, pick a theme or write a prompt, and it returns the product sitting in a styled scene with shadows and reflections to match. Shotova is a canvas that makes the whole set a listing needs from one photo, and a background scene is one of those outputs rather than the whole job.
Both are good at the part they share. The difference is everything around it: whether you can try before you pay, what happens to the images you do not use, and how many other tools you end up buying next to it.
Every figure here was checked against each product's own pricing page and product pages on 11 September 2026. Where Pebblely wins, and it wins on more than one row, it says so in its own section.
If your products are candles, skincare, drinks or jewelry and what you want is a steady supply of good-looking scene shots for a store and a social feed, Pebblely does that with less setup than anything else in this category. The themes are the product. A seller who has never written a prompt gets a usable image on the first try.
If a new product means a whole listing, the comparison changes. A listing is a main image, several scenes, angle views, an apparel format for anything worn, a vertical video and the title and description. Pebblely makes the scenes. Its pricing page lists no video, no ghost mannequin, no dedicated on-model tool and no listing copy, so everything past the scenes is a second subscription.
The other difference shows up before you pay anything. Pebblely has no free trial and does not offer refunds, so the first month is a blind purchase. Shotova has a free plan of 10 credits a month with a commercial license, and a 7-day money-back guarantee on paid plans. The table below is the whole comparison on one screen.
Both products point an image model at a product photo. What they wrap around that model is the difference.
Pebblely was rebuilt in March 2026 around two ways of working: Templates, with 40+ pre-made themes, and Custom, where you describe the scene yourself. You upload a product, crop it, pick a size and generate. The old steps of removing the background and positioning the product on a canvas are gone, which is a large part of why it is so quick. It exports in five presets, from a 1080 by 1080 square to a 1920 by 1080 landscape and a 1200 by 628 Facebook ad, and its Basic and Pro plans add bulk generation and bulk download. Scenes can include a person holding the product, or wearing a small one like a necklace.
Shotova is shaped around the listing rather than the scene. One upload goes onto a board, and the tools on it make the different things a listing needs from that same source: styled scenes and white background images, angle views from Product Angles, floating-garment shots from Ghost Mannequin, on-body apparel shots from Virtual Model, a vertical clip from Product Video, and the title and description from Listing Copywriter. Any output on the board can be regenerated on its own, so fixing one weak image does not mean redoing the set. Shotova Canvas is where a whole catalog gets the same treatment in one pass.
Neither shape is better in the abstract. A theme library is fast when the scene is the deliverable. A canvas is fast when the deliverable is eight different outputs about one product.
Pebblely runs three paid plans and no free tier. Lite is $9 a month for 30 images, or $90 billed yearly. Basic is $19 a month for 200 images, or $179 a year. Pro is $39 a month for 500 images, or $379 a year. Every plan includes the 40+ themes and custom prompts, and bulk generation starts on Basic. Billed yearly, each plan comes to roughly two months free.
Shotova also meters one thing. One credit is one image on every tool, and the listing title and description together cost one credit. Free is 10 credits a month with no card and a commercial license. Starter is $12 a month, or $9.60 billed yearly, for 100 credits. Pro is $29 for 400 and Business is $59 for 1,000. Video is billed per second instead, at 2 credits per second on Standard quality and 3 credits per second on High. Shotova pricing has the full grid.
Put the two side by side and the cost per image is not one number, because it depends on the tier. At the entry tier Shotova is much cheaper: 12 cents an image on Starter against 30 cents on Pebblely Lite. One tier up, it flips. Pebblely Basic is 9.5 cents an image, cheaper than Shotova Starter. At the top the two land close together, 7.8 cents on Pebblely Pro against 7.3 cents on Shotova Pro and 5.9 cents on Business.
What happens to images you do not use matters as much as any of those. Pebblely does not carry unused image credits into the next month. Shotova Starter and Pro reset every 30 days as well, so on those plans neither product banks anything. Shotova Business carries up to 200 unused credits forward, which is the only rollover on either side.
| Route | US dollars per image, billed monthly |
|---|---|
| Pebblely Lite | $0.30 |
| Shotova Starter | $0.12 |
| Pebblely Basic | $0.095 |
| Shotova Pro | $0.073 |
| Pebblely Pro | $0.078 |
| Shotova Business | $0.059 |
Monthly list price divided by the monthly image allowance, checked 11 September 2026, ordered by plan price. Billed yearly, every bar drops by roughly a fifth on both sides. A Shotova credit also buys angle views, ghost mannequin and on-model shots at the same rate; a Pebblely image is a scene.
This is where the two products actually separate, and it is a question about scope rather than image quality.
On Pebblely, every plan buys the same thing in different quantities: scenes. That is the product working as designed, not a gap in it. It does mean a clothing seller still needs somewhere to make on-model and floating-garment images, a marketplace listing still needs its angle and detail views, and a store posting Reels or TikTok still needs somewhere to make the clip. None of those are on a Pebblely plan.
On Shotova, the entry paid tier includes every tool, and the only thing the tiers change is the credit count. Video is on every paid plan, and so are the apparel formats and the copy. The free plan carries every image tool too, so the test on your own product costs nothing and the result can go on a live listing.
| A listing needs | Shotova Starter, $12/mo | Pebblely Lite, $9/mo |

Pebblely availability from its pricing page and its 8 March 2026 product announcement, checked 11 September 2026. A No means neither lists the feature. Pebblely Basic and Pro carry the same features as Lite plus bulk generation, so moving up a Pebblely tier adds images, not tools.
Three things, and a comparison that skipped them would not be worth reading.
Pebblely is cheaper per image on its middle plan. Basic at $19 for 200 images is 9.5 cents an image, against 12 cents on Shotova Starter, and billed yearly Basic drops to about 7.5 cents. If your need is a few hundred scene shots a month and nothing else, Pebblely Basic or Pro is the lower bill, and bulk generation on those plans turns out a batch in one run.
Pebblely is also the easier tool to hand to someone who has never generated an image. Pick a theme, get a scene. The 40+ themes cover the looks most small brands want, and custom prompts are there when a theme is not quite right. Pebblely also states that uploads and generated images are not used for AI training, which some brands will care about.
And it is well used. Pebblely says more than 25 million images have been made on it. If what you want is a focused scene generator from a team that does that one job, it is a reasonable thing to buy.
If you are looking for a Pebblely alternative, the useful question is not which product is better. It is which shape fits what you actually make each week.
Choose Pebblely if the recurring job is scene shots for a small range of products that are not worn, if you want the fewest decisions between upload and image, if you post to social more than you list on marketplaces, or if you need a few hundred scenes a month and nothing else.
Choose Shotova if a new product means a whole listing rather than one image, if you sell clothing and need on-model and floating-garment shots, if you want a vertical video and the listing copy from the same upload, or if you want to try it on your own product before paying anything.
Plenty of sellers would be well served by both: Pebblely for a steady supply of social scenes, Shotova for the listing set on each new product. If you are also weighing a background remover for a phone, Shotova vs Photoroom covers that side of the choice, and the roundup of the best AI product photography tools puts Pebblely next to four others.
Shotova is an AI canvas for online sellers that makes every image and video a store needs from one product photo. Scenes, white backgrounds, angle views, ghost mannequin, virtual model shots, product video, UGC video and listing copy all run on the same board.
Because the tools share that board, nothing gets downloaded from one tool and uploaded into the next. The free plan comes with a commercial license, so the first test can be a real listing rather than a demo.
Try it on your own product: 10 free credits every month, no card needed.
It depends on what you need beyond scenes. For scene shots alone, Pebblely is already a good fit and switching gains little. For a whole listing from one photo, meaning scenes plus angle views, ghost mannequin, on-model apparel shots, a vertical video and the copy, Shotova covers all of it on every paid plan, and its free plan lets you test that on your own product first.
No. Pebblely's pricing page says it does not offer free trials, and it does not offer refunds either, so the cheapest way in is the Lite plan at $9 a month for 30 images. Shotova has a free plan of 10 credits a month with no card and a commercial license, and its paid plans carry a 7-day money-back guarantee.
At the entry tier, no: Pebblely Lite is 30 cents an image and Shotova Starter is 12 cents. On the middle tier, yes: Pebblely Basic is 9.5 cents an image. At the top the two are close, 7.8 cents on Pebblely Pro against 7.3 cents on Shotova Pro. The bigger gap is scope, since a Shotova credit also buys angle views, apparel formats and copy that Pebblely does not make.
No. Pebblely makes still images: product scenes in five sizes, from a 1080 by 1080 square to a 1920 by 1080 landscape. Shotova makes vertical product video on every paid plan, billed per second, so an 8 second Standard clip is 16 credits, about $1.92 on Starter.
Not with a dedicated tool. Pebblely scenes can include a person holding a product or wearing a small item like a necklace, but there is no garment-on-model tool and no ghost mannequin. Shotova has both from the same upload: Virtual Model puts your garment on a fully synthetic model, and Ghost Mannequin makes the floating-garment shot.
No. Pebblely says unused image credits do not carry into the next month. Shotova Starter and Pro reset every 30 days as well, so neither banks credits on those plans. Shotova Business is the exception, carrying up to 200 unused credits forward.
